1Get set up

Five minutes. You need an email address and, for online sales, a bank account for Stripe.

  1. Sign in with your email. Go to My store. We email a 6 digit code, no password to remember.
  2. Name your store. That becomes your link, like cardclub.com.au/s/your-store. It works straight away and has its own QR sign.
  3. Work down the setup list. Your store page shows "Set up your store" with each step and a button for it: load stock, prices, logo and location, payments, postage, offer rules, phone alerts, photos, your table sign. It glows until it's done, and you can fold it away.
Free or licensed? A free store holds 25 cards. The 7 day trial (then $29 a month) unlocks unlimited cards and imports. Already paid? Sign in with the email you subscribed with, or type your licence key into the Lister, and the limit lifts the next time you add a card.
New stores are checked once. Your link and QR work immediately. Card Club checks every new store before it joins the shared market, usually the same day.

2Load your stock

Four ways in. Mix them however you like: most vendors import once, then add cards by hand as they come in.

From Collectr (fastest for a big binder)

  1. In Collectr, export your collection as a CSV.
  2. Open the Lister and drop the file in. Every card is matched to the exact print with a picture, priced in AUD from your Collectr market prices (rounded to clean .95 prices, or your own markup).
  3. Check anything flagged, then publish to your store.
  4. Each week, export again and tap Update from Collectr on your store page. New cards go on, sold ones come off, and anything you've fixed by hand (price, condition, language, graded or raw, reverse holo) stays as you set it.

Add a card by hand

  1. On your store page tap Add stock (or Add cards by hand in the vendor view).
  2. Type the name, the number or the code on the card: charizard 151, MEW 199, OP05-119, or the name and set: eevee gem pack vol 2. No need to pick a game or set first. If the name isn't in the game you've picked, it checks the others for you.
  3. Tap Add, put in your price and qty. The market price shows in AUD with the US price in brackets, as a guide. Pick the printing if there's more than one (Holo, Reverse holo, 1st Edition), each with its market price next to it.
  4. Chinese cards. Tap Pokémon CN once and it stays picked, so you can add a stack of Chinese cards without typing "chinese" every time. Every Simplified Chinese set is there, Gem Packs and the newest releases included, with pictures and market prices. Set codes work too: CSV10C 045. Special prints (Poké Ball and Master Ball patterns, stamped cards) are listed separately and the print goes in the name.
  5. Korean or Thai copy? Find the matching English or Japanese print and set Language of your copy. Add your own photo so buyers see your actual card.
  6. Graded? Choose Graded slab and type the grade (PSA 10). Add the cert number if you like (see slabs).
  7. Add your own photo if you have one. It's cropped and cleaned for you.

Not in the catalogue (a new promo, a signed card, a bundle you made up)? Use Type it in and fill the details yourself. Sealed has its own tab: type the set and what it is (booster box, ETB, bundle, tin).

From Shopify

Connect your Shopify store and stock flows both ways every hour. See Shopify below.

From eBay

Type your eBay seller name and your Buy It Now listings come in with your photos and prices. See eBay below.

3Look after your cards

Tap any card on your store page to open it.

  • Price and stock. Change either and it's live everywhere straight away.
  • Raw or graded. Added a slab as a single, or the other way round? Flip Type to Graded slab and type the grade.
  • Printing. Standard, Holo, Reverse holo, 1st Edition. Reverse holo and 1st Edition show in the card's name so buyers can't miss it, and a reverse holo next to a holo of the same card is two separate listings, each with its own price.
  • Condition and language. NM, LP, MP, HP for raw cards. Japanese, Chinese and Korean cards are labelled as such.
  • Mark sold / Back in stock. For a sale that didn't go through the till.
  • Pause listing. Takes a card off the market without losing anything. Unpause when you're ready.
  • Your cost and in-stock date. Private. You'll see what you'd make on each card and which ones are slow movers (90 days or more).
Anything you change by hand is remembered, so the next Collectr or Shopify update leaves it alone. "Let updates change it" on the card undoes that.

4Your store dashboard

My store is home base. Panels glow when something needs you, and each one folds away if you'd rather not see it.

  • The numbers up top. Live cards, what's waiting on you, sold in the last 30 days and orders to post.
  • Store rank. Your level and how close the next one is. See Store rank.
  • Needs you. New holds and offers, orders to post, cards with no price, cards Card Club has hidden, slow movers, cards your Collectr export couldn't list, and cards that would sell better with a real photo. Each line has a button that takes you straight there.
  • Latest. Holds, offers and sales as they happen.
  • Your stock. Search, filter (slow, no price, needs a photo) and tap to edit.

The vendor view is the same store from the selling side: holds and offers, sales and orders, payments, postage, offer rules, show day, Shopify and staff.

5Sell online

Turn on Buy now and collectors can pay by card from your store page and the market. The money goes straight to your bank.

  1. Connect payments. Vendor view, Payments, Connect. Stripe asks for your details and bank account. About five minutes.
  2. Turn on Buy now. Once Stripe says you're ready.
  3. Set your postage. Tracked post is $9.95 by default. Add a cheap untracked letter for raw singles under a set value, express post (forced over a value if you like), free postage over a threshold, and pickup from your table. Slabs never go by letter.
  4. Post the order. Paid orders show in Needs you as "to post". Add the tracking number and the buyer is emailed a tracking link.
  • Same buyer, same week. If a buyer comes back within 72 hours, new cards ride on their open order with no extra postage.
  • Sold at the table first? If an online buyer pays for a card you've just sold in person, they're refunded automatically.
  • At a show or away? Pause online checkout for show days, or set Away until a date. Holds and offers stay on, or pause too.

6Holds and offers

Buyers can ask you to hold a card for the next show, or offer a price. Both land on your phone the moment they're sent.

  • Holds. A request, first in best dressed until you confirm it. Mark it picked up when they collect, or close it.
  • Offers. Accept, counter or decline. An accepted offer lets the buyer pay online at that price.
  • Offer rules. Set a lowest offer you'll look at (anything below is declined quietly, the buyer never sees your line). From Toploaded rank you can also auto-accept offers at or above a level you choose.
  • Block someone. One tap on a hold stops that contact sending more.

7Trades

Let collectors put their cards toward yours. They build the trade from their Card Club collection, you pick what you want, and you swap in person.

  • Turn it on. In the vendor view, tick Taking trades, pick your trade-in rate (50% to 90% of market, 70% to start), then Save.
  • Choose which cards. Tick Whole store open to trades, or leave it off and tap Trade on the cards you want to swap in Stock. Only cards with a price can be traded for.
  • Trade offers. They land in Holds and offers with a buzz. You see every card they're offering, its market price and what it counts for at your rate, plus any cash they'll add.
  • Keep what you want. Untick cards you don't want before you accept. The cash top-up updates as you go. Accepting puts your card on hold for them.
  • At the swap. Check condition (values assume near mint), take the cards and any cash, then tap Swapped, mark sold. The sale is logged at your full price, paid by trade, so it shows in your reports.
  • In person only. Trades aren't posted, so nobody has to send first. Do them at your table or shop.
  • GST. If you're registered, a trade is generally treated as a sale at its value. Check with your accountant.

8The till

Your point of sale for the show table and the shop counter, built on the same stock. Sell a card at the table and it's off your online store that second, and off Shopify too.

  1. Open the till. My store, Open till, or Till in the seller menu. Add it to your phone's home screen and it opens like an app.
  2. Build the sale. Search your stock, or type the cert number off a slab. Tap cards in. Change any price to haggle, add a discount on the whole sale, or + Other item for sleeves, binders or anything not listed.
  3. Take payment.
    • Cash: tap what they handed over and it shows the change.
    • PayID / bank or Own card reader (Square, Zettle, your bank EFTPOS): it records the sale, the money goes wherever it normally does.
    • Card by QR: a QR comes up, they scan it and pay on their own phone. Money goes to your Stripe account.
    • Card reader: a Stripe WisePOS E or S700 reader. The sale goes straight to the reader, they tap their card.
  4. Receipt. Email them one if they want it, then New sale.
  • No signal in the hall? Cash, PayID and own-reader sales are saved on your phone and sync by themselves when you're back online. QR and the Stripe reader need signal.
  • Today. Takings split by payment type, every sale, and Void if you got one wrong (the cards go back in stock). Refund card sales in Stripe first, then void them.
  • Reports. Sales in the vendor view opens with a report for today, 7 or 30 days, this or last month, all time or any dates: takings, items sold, average sale, fees, best sellers, where sales came from and how people paid. Put in what you paid for your cards and it adds cost of goods, gross profit and margin. Download it as a spreadsheet for your accountant.
  • Your sales list in the vendor view says where each in-person sale came from: "Till by" whoever rang it up, or "Marked sold by" whoever ticked the card off.
  • Setting up a Stripe reader. Today, Card reader. On the reader: Settings, Generate pairing code. Type the code in with your business address. Payments must be connected first.
  • Staff. Staff you've added can use the till. Only the owner can add or remove readers.

9Shows and your table

  • Join a show. Got a show code from the organiser? Vendor view, Show day. Add the code and your table number, and your cards go into that show's search with your table on every card.
  • Your QR sign. Print it from My store (Print your table sign) and stand it on the table. When the table's three deep, people browse on their phone and put cards on hold, and your phone buzzes.
  • On the day. Pause online checkout so nothing sells twice, sell with the till, and keep an eye on holds.

10Photos and slabs

  • Price it off real sales. When you add a card (Add stock, the Lister, or tapping a card in My store) there are eBay sold links for Australia and Worldwide. They open eBay's sold listings for that exact card, grade and language, newest first, so you see what it actually went for, not what people are asking.
  • Real photos sell. Catalogue images are fine to start, but your own photo on your best cards sells more. Tap a card, Add your photo. It's cropped to the card and the background is cleaned up.
  • Photo catch-up. Photos gives you a shot list, worst first: no picture, slabs, One Piece, anything $100 or more. Do it on your phone and work down the list.
  • Cert numbers are hidden. Slab photos have the cert number blurred automatically, so nobody can copy your slab. You can switch that off in settings.
  • PSA cert check. Add the cert number on a PSA slab (it's private) and Card Club checks it with PSA. Buyers see a "PSA cert checked" badge.
  • Link previews. Share a card or your store link on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger or Discord and it shows a branded picture with the card, price and your store name.

11Shopify

Keep your Shopify store and plug it in. One stock count, two shopfronts.

  • Pull: Shopify keeps your Card Club stock in step every hour. A sale here takes the unit out of Shopify, a sale in Shopify or Shopify POS takes it off here.
  • Send: push cards you added on Card Club out to Shopify, or turn on auto-send so you only list once.
  • Doubles: if the same card is on both sides, you're asked to merge or keep both.

The full walkthrough, picture by picture, is the Shopify guide.

12eBay

Sell on eBay too? Bring your listings in and connect your account. Three minutes, and nothing sells twice.

  • Bring your listings in: type your eBay seller name and your Buy It Now listings come across with your photos and prices. Anything that sells or ends on eBay comes off Card Club within the hour.
  • Connect your account: sign in on eBay once. When a card sells on Card Club, Card Club ends the eBay listing for you (or drops the quantity).
  • Prices: change a price here and tick Also change the price on eBay to change both.
  • Send cards to eBay: list your Card Club singles and slabs on your eBay with your postage, returns and a markup for eBay's fees. Whichever side sells first, the other comes down.

Find it on My store in your setup steps, or Vendor view, Connect eBay. Step by step: the eBay guide.

13Buying stock

  • From collectors. Buy from collectors shows cards collectors want to sell. Make a private offer and tick whether you'll cover tracked postage (offers that do stand out to the seller). Add cards to your want list and you're pinged the moment one is listed.
  • What collectors want. Collectors star the cards missing from their sets and say what they'd pay. On your stock you'll see "3 collectors want this" and the top price, and they're pinged when you list at their number.
  • Sealed. Buy sealed for wholesale boxes and cases from Japan Card Co. Build your order, send it, and you're invoiced before you pay anything. Minimum order $650 ex GST.
    • Chinese Pokémon and Riftbound are already in Australia: freight and import duty included.
    • Live Japanese stock ships from Japan: shipping is usually $40 to $60 an order, confirmed on the invoice. Japan items over $1,000 attract import GST and customs charges, passed on at cost.
    • Where a box comes in more than one version (standard, damaged box and so on), pick it from the dropdown on the card.
    • Once your order ships, it shows up at the top of your vendor view as Stock on its way. Set your markup, tick whether your prices include GST, and tap Add to stock. It goes into your stock off sale, so nobody buys a box you haven't got yet (boxes you already have keep selling). Tracking shows under Wholesale orders in your vendor view as soon as it ships (you get a ping and an email too), along with every order you've placed. When the parcel lands, tap It's arrived, put it on sale. Quantities go in, what you paid is saved as the cost so your profit reports are right, boxes you already stock keep your price, and new ones get a starting price you can change.

14Phone app and alerts

Card Club runs in your browser. Saved to your home screen it opens like an app, works on patchy show wifi, and can buzz you for every hold, offer and sale.

  • iPhone (Safari). Tap ••• at the bottom right, then Share, then Add to Home Screen (tap View More if you can't see it). Leave Open as Web App on. Older iPhones: the Share button at the bottom. Then open Card Club from the new icon and tap Get phone notifications in the vendor view.
  • iPhone (Chrome). The Share button in the address bar, then Add to Home Screen.
  • Android. Tap Install when it pops up, or the browser menu, Install app.
  • Opened from Instagram or Messenger? Open it in Safari or Chrome first. In-app browsers can't add to the home screen.

15Store rank

Your rank goes up with clean deals: paid orders, posted within 48 hours, rated as described, pool deals done. Strikes (no-shows, ghosted deals, not as described) cost XP and can drop you a rank.

RawSleevedToploadedGraded 9Gem Mint 10Black Label
  • Sleeved: a badge next to your store name across the market.
  • Toploaded: auto-accept offers at your level, and first ping on want list matches.
  • Graded 9 and up: a stronger badge, and your cards sort above lower ranks at the same price.
  • Black Label: by invitation.

16Fees and plans

  • Plan: $29 AUD a month after a 7 day free trial. Unlimited cards and imports. The founding rate stays yours while you're subscribed.
  • Card sales through Card Club (Buy now, Card by QR, Stripe reader): 5% a card with a plan, never more than $50 a card. The first 30 stores keep 5% for a year even without a plan.
  • Everything else is free: holds, offers, cash, PayID and your own reader in the till, shows, the QR sign.
  • Stripe's own card fee comes out of the payment as normal. Payouts land in your bank on Stripe's schedule.

17Fixes and FAQ

I'm stuck at 25 cards but I've paid

Sign in with the email you subscribed with, or type your licence key into the Lister. Then add a card again and the limit lifts. If the Lister says "Key not found" or "Subscription incomplete", the key or payment needs fixing: email us.

A card won't come up when I search

Try the number on the card, or the code (OP05-119), or the name and set (eevee gem pack 2). For Chinese cards tap Pokémon CN first. Brand new promos can take a few days to reach the catalogue: use Type it in.

Where can I see every card in a set?

The card library lists every set in every game we cover, card by card, with market prices and who on Card Club has each one.

The market or my store shows nothing on my phone

Pull down to refresh. On a weak signal the page retries by itself and shows Try again if it still can't load.

I sold a card at the table without the till

Open the card and tap Mark sold (or Sold one if you had more than one). It comes off everywhere.

Phone notifications won't turn on (iPhone)

They only work once Card Club is on your home screen. See Phone app and alerts, then open it from the icon and try again.

A buyer didn't show up for a hold

Close the hold so the card is free again. Repeat no-shows count against the buyer's rank.
